Chelsea – Christmas is a time of giving, and that was certainly true of the many parishes and groups that came out to support the residents of St. Louis Center during the month of December. Most importantly, the residents of the Center had a great time with all of the attention that they received, and whether they went home with families or remained at the Center, they knew they were loved by many people. Special events included visits from members of the Federazione Siciliana del Michigan, and the Federazione Abbruzzese of Michigan, the U.S. Marine Toys for Tots program, the Tocco Family and Friends from east of Detroit, and members of Knights of Columbus Councils and Assemblies. And certainly Santa Claus was kept busy many several trips to the Center for our “good children.” Local parishes donated everything from new pajamas, to toys, DVD movies, music CD’s, and underwear for each resident. The residents and staff enjoyed a wonderful month of giving that will last throughout the year, until Santa Claus returns in 2015.
