The 2015 St. Louis Center Car Show was a big hit in its third year on September 20th, with a total of 110 cars and their owners making their way to this beautiful pastoral setting located five miles west of Chelsea. According to event organizer “Top Hat” John Jendza, “This was the perfect venue for a car show, because there’s a tremendous amount of room to spread the cars around and nice rolling hills to display them.” Event chairwoman Cindy Lesser added, “Everyone had a great time this year, the weather was perfect, and we hope to build off this year’s success for an even bigger show in 2016.”
An eclectic selection of classic cars, trucks, and custom vehicles were represented at this year’s show, and guests were able to see everything from a one-hundred year old 1915 Ford Model-T “Speedster” to a 2013 modified Corvette that won the “Best in Show” award. Local DJ Jerry Martell provided 50’s and 60’s rock and roll music in the morning, and Brian “Bubba” Cowan from W4 Country 102.9 FM Ann Arbor ran a remote broadcast in afternoon and assisted with the awards presentations.
St. Louis Center is a residential care home for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and has been run by the Servants of Charity congregation of the Catholic Church since 1960.
