IMG_2272Many of the restaurants and businesses in the Chelsea Community hold the residents of St. Louis Center close to their hearts, and when asked for their assistance, they respond with great generosity and pride. This year’s Taste of Chelsea was the fifth year for the event, and over 125 people filled St. Mary Parish Hall to enjoy the delicious culinary offerings provided on the evening of Saturday October 3, 2015.

This year’s participants included: Arctic Breakaway, Chelsea Big Boy, Chelsea Milling Co., Common Grill, Good Times Kettle Corn, Mill Pond Bread, Smokehouse 52 BBQ, Stivers Restaurant, Thompson’s Pizza, Fr. William J. Turner, Uptown Coney Island, Wesley’s Catering, Zingerman’s Creamery, and Zou Zou’s Café.

Golling – Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram was this year’s Corporate Sponsor, and “Master Chef” level Sponsors included Chelsea Dermatology, Chelsea Knights of Columbus Council #3092,

Lane Animal Hospital, Polly’s Country Market, St. Joseph Mercy – Chelsea, Side Street Garage, and Dawn and Jeff Williams. The musical entertainment was provided by the A.S.K. Jazz Trio from the University of Michigan, and PR Director Joe Yekulis was the emcee for the evening. The event was chaired by Scott and Robin Staelgraeve with the support of St. Mary Parish and Rev. William J. Turner. This year’s $20 wine pull was a big hit, and nearly 60 donated bottles of premium wine were sold to participants to take home and enjoy.

St. Louis Center is a residential care facility for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities located five miles west of Chelsea in Sylvan Twp. The proceeds from this event will support the operations of the center. Please visit for more information.
